April Middle School Update

Change is in the air! We're coming around to completing our first year shepherding Highline Youth. And middle school ministry has been on our heart. We've been processing what it would look like to build a team and program that is designed specifically for middle schoolers and where they're at on their adolescent journeys.

New Middle School Weekly Program

After much prayer and thought, we're moving forward with plans to launch a Sunday Morning Middle School program. We're calling it "Sunday Jesus Squad". We like simple descriptive names. Sue us. I'll be joined by a team of high school and adult leaders to help with games, teaching, and small groups. Our goal is to provide a fun and engaging environment for students to have fun together, and to build meaningful relationships with leaders. We'll be kicking off with a foundations teaching series that will go through some of the most important aspects of our faith, scripture, theology, and how it all impacts our lives and relationship with God.

"Sunday Jesus Squad"  Details
When: Sunday Mornings 10:30-12:00 (overlapping 2nd service)
Where: Highline Youth room
Who: Students entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grade
What: Games, Teaching, Small Groups
Launch: Starting June 14th
Current 9AM Sunday School Discontinuing
We're discontinuing the current 9am class. Our last class will be April 26th. We'll have a 1-1/2 month break before launching the new program the week after promotion Sunday.
Wednesday Night Becomes High School Only
Our goal is for "Sunday Jesus Squad" to replace the Wednesday night youth group for middle school students. The reality is that currently we can't make one ministry night fit for two very different groups of students. So we'll be making our current mid-week program night exclusively for High School students beginning in July. Students going into 9th grade are welcome to join these nights.

As for our non-weekly events, we'll continue to have an assortment of events that are either joint (7th-12th), or exclusively middle or high school.

Middle School Camp!

We are knee-deep in the planning phase of middle school camp! Registration will open soon. But for now mark your calendar for July 26-31! We have a great week planned for fun, games, relationship building, teaching, worship, and more. Stay tuned for registration!
